To Run Again: Welcome!

My Story

I've been a runner for as long as I can remember. One day when I was in my early twenties, I went for a short walk and out of nowhere my knee swelled up to the point where I couldn't walk. Several doctors later, there was apparently "nothing wrong" with my knee. So began my quest to find out what was wrong and to try and run again. For 13 years, I couldn't run, hike, swim (laps), or climb stairs without my knee swelling with accompanying pain.

About 20+ doctors/therapists/health professionals, 13 years, and hundreds of hours spent searching the internet later (not to mention some serious cash, even with health insurance), I finally found someone who could help me. Last Saturday I ran my first 5k in 14 years. I hope to spare anyone the time, money, and years lost running by sharing my story and my findings in this blog.

Thank you to Michael Spevak, (Active Physical Therapy, Reno, NV) for being a true answer to my prayers and changing my life by helping me to run again.

Thanks for visiting--I am just getting this site up and running. I will be adding much more information to come, detailing my journey, the various diagnoses I was given, and how it all go fixed. Please feel free to leave any comments--I welcome them!
